Emily and Arabella's affair continues whilst Mr Horsham receives another birching.
I am enjoying discovering The Diary of A Victorian Disciplinarian. Despite the veneer of respectability and prudishness that covered Victorian society the first entries in Emily Havercock’s diary have revealed Mr Horsham’s submissive nature, his desire for birching and Emily’s sapphic affair with Arabella Horsham.
Now, with the discovery of a secret diary kept by Mr Horsham, you can read two accounts of the evening’s activities side by side. This is especially interesting, as Mr Horsham is hooded whilst Miss Havercock is present, so is not fully aware of what is happening.

9th May 1894 Alexander Horsham’s Diary
Miss Havercock once again graciously agreed to administer chastisement for my impure thoughts and actions, and those I have inflicted upon my dear wife. Being a woman of strict morals and upbringing she did, on this occasion, insist on certain conditions. I was most anxious to comply with these.
My dear wife explained that, Miss Havercock, although amenable to applying the birch to my naked buttocks, wanted to maintain some modesty by having me hooded and, therefore, unable to see her doing so. She also requested that I be bound to the frame by Mrs Horsham, who would then go and bring Miss Havercock to the room. I readily agreed to these terms.
